My 9700 was pretty overclock, so obviously that could cause a lockup in 3dmark....
But, as with always happens when locking up in 3d things, on startup the computer takes a LONG time sitting at "Detecting IDE Drives".... Its like something has to cool off.
The cpu is very cool, running 32C idle.... Doubt it goes over 40C on load.
Obviously if a video card overheated in 3dmark I dont see why "detecting IDE drives" would sit so long on startup...
And this happens only after intense 3d apps that cause a lockup.... Normal startup of the computer doesnt stall at all during detecting ide drives...
So, can it be my hard drive? Something else? Hmmm.... its a WD 40g 7200 hard drive
