If the system reports 11Mbps, then taht's all you can get
with the MN620. After overhead this makes about 3-5Mbps.

If this is the case, you may consider getting a 802.11g
router and wifi card -- they work at up to 55Mbps. But
remember that anyway the Modem port on the router is
limited to 10Mbps!!

However, if the system is reporting less than 11Mbps (e.g.
2Mbps), then it's a problem with the building. You may try
to reposition the base, and see if that helps (vertical and
away from walls typically is better). Make sure the router
and the card are set to the same channel.

Otherwise, you can consider adding a second base to your
room (the MS routers need to be wired together), or a plug
in antenna to focus the signal into your room. See
www.freeantennas.com for some DIY antennas.
