I loaded a new game, Unreal Tournament 2004, into my new
Dell P4, 512mb, 1.8 ghz ...

Played it on line several times. Last time I went to load
the game, online, it hung and I turned off the computer
and turned it back on and it started running a disk check
and said files had been corrupted. The system started, I
started the game again and Microsoft word 2002 starts and
the game quits responding. I end Word 2002 and the game
ends too.
I ran Mcaffe and spybot and nothing is found but it
looks like something got corrupted.

what does anyone suggest I do?
Thanks!!!

un-install unreal tournament 2004, then delete the directory that was made.
if you feel inclined as well, remove the registry key it made. then defrag
the offending hard disk. run Scan disk again at boot. Once all the green
lights are showing. Re-install UT2k4. once you've patched up ut2k4 and put
in all the wondrous addons you like, make a restore point ( my bet is you
have system restore on, i do not, i like all the juice my cpu can muster )
then you should be safe from funky-whatnots like what just happened to ya.
Good luck, hope to frag ya soon...bullseye....hehehe!!!
