I am considering purchasing an Alienware m17x laptop.Dell recently refreshed m17x with i5 and i7 processors and I would like to know, if you can overclock those processors from the BIOS like in most Alienware laptops (I am not talking about Intel's Turbo Boost). However, I can't find anything regarding new processors' overclocking capabilities, so if you know something, please share.

P.S.Especially for i7-920XM Intel has confirmed that it can be further overclocked (further than Turbo Boost).

at this point in time i don't think you will see any improvement with an overclocked processor that's already a beast.

Thanks for the reply.Maybe you are right. But Clarksfield processors are a bit unstable. That's a disadvantage. If they are also not overclockable, I won't go and spend money on them.Ah, I forgot to mention that I moved the post to the ''CPU'' section.
