Notebook serial?

So, my notebook just died on me, it has Windows vista home premium 64bit....
my question is, can i use the serial from the notebook (on the botton) on a diferent pc?

Yes, but you may have to explain to Microsoft's Licensing call centre that the original machine is no longer in use.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you can't. Aren't OEM keys hardware-specific?

Do you have the Vista disc ? Talk to Microsoft.

Insted of going the long route. Just take out the hard drive and put it in your new one.
. If your old laptop still works Go to Recovery Manager and start it at factory setting this will erase all Viruses , and any errors. You will have it back to the factory settings.
If all else fails try using the two recoverfy DVD that you burned when new.
