There seems to be a pattern emerging of posts from users of laptops (quite naturally) wanting to extract more performance (or just repairing them) by changing components.
Unfortunately, in most cases, this is not entertained by the manufacturers who often lock the BIOS, to specific peripherals such as optical drives and even on what we might regard as generic components like hard drives.
The chances that the BIOS would let you change components on the motherboard such as a CPU (or more improbably) a video subsystem are even more slim.
If you want that kind of flexibility in almost every case you will need to buy a desktop machine in the first place.
i have 2 desktops and 2 lappying just wondering if there was a way to unlock or clear cmose so i am guessing this bios is locked 400fsb , even thought the chipset can do 3.06ghz 533fsb oh well just wondering thats all, thats for the reply
