I have had my Tungsten C for well over a year now and I don't know what has
changed recently that forces me to re-enter serial numbers into programs
again after every hotsync. I don't lose any data and the programs work fine
but it is very annoying and time consuming.

Sometimes information like that is stored in the "Saved Preferences"
database. You could try deleting it from both your desktop and
your handheld and see what happens. (Normally, I'd never suggest
deleting this database, but since it sounds like it's already
getting clobbered anyway, it doesn't seem like that big a deal
in this case.)

You have the 'System' conduit set to 'Desktop overwrites Handheld', it
should be the other way around always.

That is exactly what the problem was, thanks very much for taking the time
to help out.
