Hi there,
I just bought an Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton) today.
Back home, I immediatly turned off my PC to install it on the mobo, an Abit AT7-Max2* (KT400). Turned the computer on and... tada! ooops: nothing
Fans & HDs are spinning, but the screen remains black. The mobo isn't emitting any chime. There's no sign of HDD activity (but the HD LED remains on).
So I did some CMOS reset procedures, but no luck.
I checked the following:
PSU
Video board
Battery
Ram is assumed to be OK.
I even tried my Barton CPU with an old KT133A board: it works. It's not proprerly recognized, but the system boots, so I assume this CPU isn't fried... yet
Too bad I don't have my old Athlon TB 1333 anymore to test if the AT7-MAX2 is dead or not .
* This board has up-to-date BIOS and is supposed to support Barton CPUs.
Any help would be appreciated
