What mci 100hz means in real situation? Whats the difference to 50HZ?

Hi,

If your request is in regards to a Display from LG them MCI stands for Motion Clarity Index. This is imo another attempt from the display manufacturer to confuse their customers with meaningless numbers based on very weird factors they make up. In the case of LG the MCI includes the following things:

Panel-Refresh rate , Back light-Scanning, Local Dimming and Motion Interpolation whereas the panel refresh rate is the standard thing you use to see on TV-Displays (60, 120Hz, 240Hz etc)

Other manufacture also try to develop their own truth about the quality of the display. Here are a few examples:

Sony: Motionflow XR (MXR)
Samsung: Clear Motion Rate (CMR)
Toshiba: Active Motion Rate (AMR)
Phillips: Perfect Motion Rate (PMR)

Here is a calcuation sample for a samsung 120 HZ display which adds up to a

120Hz panel refresh rate x 2 (backlight blinking) x 2 (Motion Interpolation) = CMR 480Hz.

The goal is that the manufacturer try to avoid easy comparison of their models with the competition as it is with mattresses for example already the case.

I hope that was the purpose of your question.
