I just picked up this new LCD monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Right now I have it hooked up with DVI. It can also use HDMI. Which is better, will I notice any difference? I know HDMI can deliver audio too, but I will be running a separate 5.1 setup and don't plan on using the monitor speakers. Which connection should I go with? Thanks!

HDMI = DVI + audio. So from a purely visual perspective, you will notice 0 difference between HDMI and DVI.

Technically speaking they should both be the same. If inferior components are used however, then one connection could be better than the other. Or they could be just as bad.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry if this is a frequent question with an easy answer. I'm more familiar with HDMI than I am with DVI. This is my first monitor with DVI/HDMI capability. :)
