How do I get my Direct TV receiver to work at alternate location

Forum Home Theatre : Satellite TV How do I get my Direct TV receiver to work at alternate location

Hello,
I recently had Direct TV at our cabin and Comcast cable at home (apx 60 miles away).
Decided to move our DTV service to home (cancelled Comcast) - thinking I could bring a receiver back to cabin on weekends (since dish was already installed).

Took a receiver to cabin, after "officially" moving DTV service to home - but receiver does not work at cabin! Did DTV change technology that knows the receiver is not at home location??

Any thoughts on how to do this? We only got to cabin on weekends during summer - so hate to pay for additional account there.
