Slow Load Times w/ XP

I have noticed since my upgrade to XP that although all my games run just fine, the initial load times seem much higher than with Win98. Has anyone else experienced this and if so any suggestions to correct it?

Two things, if you upgraded you may want to try a fresh install instead. Second you may have to upgrade your ram, WinXP needs a minimum of 256Megs of Ram for decent performance.

...and 512MB RAM if you want to play some memory intensive games such as RTCW and MOH:AA.
