ok, my old network card is a INTEL ETHEREXPRESS PRO/10+ ISA SLOT. I checked many places and i think its not compatible with any linux distro. can you guys help me make sure? if something is not compatible with one linux distro, can it be compatible with another distro? Also, would anyone mind donate a pci ethernet card to a poor soul trying to learn linux and trying to connect to the internet with linux?

It's not looking good. I've (briefly) scoured the net and could only find drivers for the PCI version of the card. That being the case, one could probably write a driver, using the PCI driver as reference, but if it hasn't happenned already, there's a) a good technical reason, b) not much demand. It might be easier to find a new NIC.
