ive just bought a AMD2200 and iam running it on a Asus a7v333 BIOS,v 1011 and i was wondering do i need to up date the bios

If everything is operating OK, then it's not necessary.

I hate that saying. If there is a new bios available by all means upgrade it if you feel up to it. You can recieve a performance boost and sometimes even new features but usually it solves some problems that you may not even be aware of. If you don't feel confident flashing your bios then be safe and don't do it but if you feel reasonably adept just follow the directions and don't do anything stupid like restarting the machine in the middle of the flash. Some motherboard manufacturers sell backup roms that you can buy from their site (epox does it) but I have recovered from several bios misflashes myself without any help from them

Treat your body like a $600 car. God didn't intend it to last so use it. Run it into the ground!
