Acer problems 7741z

my aspire 7741z needed a new hard drive, as well as the optical drive, I got both through Acer, I should have cut my losses and used it as a boat anchor. I didn't I bought to start up system disks and the recovery disks, They will not load, i get missing the operating system. If anyone has the answer please let me know

You have to load the operating system on the new drive. You don't have the recovery disks? You may have to change the boot order in the bios to boot to the cd first.

i did change the order first to the cd/dvd drive, I got it needs an operating system, changed the order again to USB when I put thier system disk onto a flash drive. the message changed to missing operating system
