I need to recover my Packard Bell Imedia J2422 desktop. It's completely not working. Booting up just gets me to the PB recovery management screen. I have the recovery disk but it doesn't work - have tried system restore, startup repair, partial and complete recovery, booting from recovery DVD, everything I can think of. I just keep getting to the recovery management screen. I have Vista 32bit, 4 GB ram. It's a pretty old machine but has been reliable until a fortnight ago. Is it hardware or software fault? Help please!! Thanks

Exactly how far into the recovery process do you get? It may be a hard-drive issue, restore disks, RAM, depends on what happens.

You can new RAM, or just use a stick at a time to test things.

I can get to the stage where I use the recovery disks in a complete recovery, all the files seems to install, then I reboot but get a startup error saying something is inaccessible. Startup repair just gets me to this error page again.

Check the RAM, and would be a good idea to try a new or a different hard-drive.
