CPU upgrade question

I was thinking of upgrading my CPU to a XP 2400+, but I am unsure of the wording in motherboard manual as to the compatiability of it. Here's what it says:

Supports AMD Athlon XP 1500+~2100+ or future Socket A processors based on 200/266 MHz

So does this mean the XP 2400+ is ok? I don't want to buy it and find out its not compatiable.

am sorry but i wud suggest u upgrade ur motherboard b4 thinking of the CPU.

Check on Abit's web site if there is any Bios update or information that says you could use XP2400+ on that mobo..
but I also agree with the one just said..cuz ur mobo will not give the full potential for XP2400+

The 2400+ is a 266Mhz chip and I would bet my left nut that it would work in your board with a BIOS flash. Your documentation only mentions 2100+ because the 2200+ and 2400+ were not out yet.

I checked the website and the latest flash does not mention of a 2400+.

i agree with ryan. the manual says xp2100 AND FUTURE PROCESSORS WITH 200-266FSB. the xp2400 is a 266fsb bus part. the reason the manual doesnt mention it by name is because it hadnt been released. if you really want to upgrade buy the cpu and if it doesnt work save and upgrade your mobo in a month or so
