Would a 600watt power inverter be powerful enough to run a 500 watt heater

When a device is rated for a certian watts the closer you get to the max the more likely it is to trip the fuse. While on paper you could say that the watts add up and the inverter should be able to do it , but you have to account for the start up which will pull more that the rated 500w. To maintain the running of the heater should work but it's the start up because of any motors involved , mainly fan motors and a motor will always draw more amps on start up. So it's more than just watts you have to look at the amps requirement.
