TECH: A couple of HSII problems????

Hi,

Just a couple of things with my HSII I would like a bit of help with.

#1. During play the Kicker sometimes fires for no reason, I thought of a
Phantom Switch could be causing it however it can occur when the ball is
anywhere on the Playfield, its getting a bit annoying because it usually
happens when your going for a Lock Shot and it Kicks and the Up/Down Ramp
lifts thinking a ball has just been launched.

#2. This one is to do with the Supercharger, mine seems to be going way
to fast and at times it can get going that quick that the ball slams into
the Plastic over the Diverter, my Plastic has a crack in it from this
problem and I have ordered a replacement but I don't want to change it yet
because the ball still hits it, so is there any way to slow the Supercharger
down? I was going to try disconnecting either the 2nd or 3rd magnet to see
if this can slow it down, has anyone had this problem?

Thanks for all the help.

Hey,

#1...check all the switches in the right freeway loop. If the ramp is
down and a ball comes through from the right, it is supposed to raise
up to avoid a stuck ball. If a switch is bad it could raise at the
wrong times. Also the up/down opto's could be dirty/defective. Does
the up/down test run without errors?

#2...hmmm. Mine rolls pretty fast as well, sometimes the diverter cant
open fast enough and the ball bounces out without making the final
loop. You might try disconnecting coil #3 and run the loop test. If
the loop time numbers are still good, you are good to go.

As for the supercharger, run the supercharger test to see what the numbers
are. I seem to recall the manual specifies a number around 80-100 for the
loop times. If yours are not lower than that, check the set up of the
supercharger, that it is bolted in correctly, level, etc. If the wall where
it is hitting the plastic has a tilt away from the ball path, it will ride
up the wall (like a banked racetrack). If it is aligned correctly the ball
shouldnt want to ride up the wall
