Keyboard and mouse, what am I looking for?

Laser, optical, bluetooth, and various numbers. What do they mean?

I personally am looking for a simple wireless keyboard and mouse (buying gaming mouse at another time.)

I'd prefer to actually learn what these mean rather than someone posting a link and saying that I would like X mouse. I appreciate the effort though.

Thank you.

  1. The main difference between an optical and laser mouse, is the type of light used to read the mouse movement. The laser mouse uses a laser and can read more dots per inch (DPI). The optical mouse uses an LED light. Laser mice are typically more precise, and my be oversensetive for normal, everyday use.

Bluetooth is a wireless technology. It typically has range of up to ~30 feet.
