The MN500 doesn't support PPTP.

PPTP is not a popular broadband connection type in North America.

The MN500 is supported only in north america markets (and as such only
supports the most popular broadband connection types found in the north
american market).

For a PPTP VPN, typically you need to open port TCP/1723 on
the router using a persistent port forwarding.
