Hi,

What would be the best bet for an RDRAM 800Mhz 512 MB, 1Ghz xeon win2k system that doesnt utilise all its RAMBUS memory, but often uses a large number of apps, and wants a performance increase... Dual PIII 1ghz xeons or an extra 256 MB of memory?
Thanks

JMH

well how much memory does win2k and the apps gobble up? if its normally less than 512 then adding more ram won't do much.

1Ghz really isnt all that fast by todays standards, even if it is a Xeon. So adding a second CPU will certainly help with running all those apps.

It comes down to the question: What is maxxed out the most? free memory or cpu utilisation?
