I have a HP Pavillion a335w destop computer that I just purchased. It says I
have to register & activate windows in order to continue. Ok. I filled in all
the information including the PRODUCT KEY and it says the key is no good. So
I called Microsoft; spend 20 minutes on the phone with a computer that tells
me I have an invalid number and to do something else. HELP!

Was the computer purchased new or used?

In either circumstance your primary resource for resolving the problem
should be HP's tech support. However if it is a used computer then
the previous may have replaced the factory installed operating system
with one from a different supplier, and that could be the cause of the
product key difficulties.

Good luck

Hello,

You may want to contact HP support since OEM copies of Windows are supported by the OEMs themselves.
You will find the support telephone numbers in the manual that came with your computer.

Call HP. Their XPs don't require activation.
