Choosing a laptop

Hi guys.

I've run into a problem. I have 2 HP laptops(I like HP a lot from previous experience with them). One of them is a dv7-3130, the other a dv7-2280eo. They cost roughly the same, and I'm mostly gonna be using it for playing games like GTA4, CoD: MW2, Mass Effect 2, games like those. I know I won't be able to max GTA4 and such with either of them, I just wish to know which one of them will give me the best value for money and the highest performance in those games:

The HP dv7-3130:
Intel Core i5 - 430 (2,26 GHz) - Turbo mode: 2.53GHZ(applied in games)
17,3" HD screen with BrightView (1600 x 900)
4 GB DDR3 RAM and 500 GB SATA harddisk (7200 RPM)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 230 with 1024/2815 MB and HDMI(Both the 4650 n 230 are GDDR3 or DDR3, not sure)
Card reader, Webcam, etc.
Microsoft Windows 7 Premium 64-bit

The HP dv7-2280eo:
Intel Core 2 Duo t6600
17.3" HD screen with BrightView (1600 x 900)
4GB DDR3 RAM and 320 GB SATA harddisk (7200 RPM)
ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4650 1GB, (same as above @ ram type)
Card reader, Webcam, etc.
Microsoft Windows 7 Premium 64-bit

Basically, the only difference is the CPU and the card. I know the mobility 4650 performs better than the GT 230M. However, the new i5 outperforms the C2D t6600 in every way, and is generally much faster. Question is, would it be better to go with the i5 and the GT 230M than the mobility 4650 and the C2D t6600?

I really can't decide, and I'm going to buy them probably tomorrow. Please help me! :(

I recommend the core 2 duo, as even though you might not need it now,you can upgrade to other processors in the future. I dont think the same can be said for laptop GPUs.

I don't think I'll consider upgrading it later on, if it had to be a choice before tomorrow and it would be a permanent choice, which would you say would handle the games the best? I've got a feeling the one with the i5 would, but I'm not sure =(

Better graphics card = better gameplay. My friend can play crysis with a dual core processor. medium settings but at least he can play it. i recommend the dual core for onger battery life and faster game performance.

but i dont recommend hp for gaming laptops to be honest. I recommwnd you look at any other company besides apple and hp for a decent gaming laptop. If you want good value for the price, whyy not attempt to buy a sony VAIO F. remember that although u shell out a bit more mony, in the end the performance is worth it. you can hold out a bit longer if you want to buy a new laptop. asus is also good to look at, and they have the most reliable laptops. all in all, hp is NOT the place to look for your requests. i hope i help. but if u must, go for it :D
