I am trying to send my desktop image from my laptop to my tv. I have hdmi out on my laptop and want to connect it to the rca or rgb on my dvd player, which is hooked up to my tv. It doesn't matter if I get the true hd picture, but just a pic. I want to stream video onto my tv. Is this possible with an hdmi to rca/rgb adapter without the converter chip built in. Is there another scenario I might use?
Thanks

HDMI is an all-digital signal, I'm pretty sure that the converter is required to turn it into any analog signal (which RGB/VGA would fall into the category of).
