Fresh Windows 7 Ultimate What should I do first?

Hey there, I just got the new windows 7 ultimate... (im holding off from windows 8), and I am interested in gaming.

All I want to know, what programs should i get first for absolute necessity to things that'll help or do something viable for gaming.

If you dont mind, I want a list...so far I got Google Chrome only and I am wanting to know what anti virus I should be getting.

There isn't any real list of things that you should get to help with gaming. You do want an anti-virus that isn't going to be itrusive and interupt a gaming session with an update. I use Kaspersky Internet Security and it works great for me.
What's going to help the most with gaming is hardware and specificly the video card so you want your drivers to be up to date.
