Recover partition

I quick formatted a partition on a drive other than the one with the OS. I then discovered it was the partition with data I wanted. Is there any way to revert back and restore that partition as it was?

You can use hdd partition recovery tools, many free ones out there but best collection found on hire ...... ns bootcd.

hint .. remove the dots and search google.

Unfortunately that is a DOS program and I'm running Windows 7. I appreciate the help anyway.

Another note, I have not accessed the drive since inadvertently quick formatting the partition, so I doubt if I overwrote anything.

thats why you make a bootable disk with that program already on it

Use Poweriso to crate a disc image of the program you wish to be run on a bootable cd. (or if the image is already created for you (with.iso extension ), skip to step 2)

Then use poweriso to burn the image to a cd, make sure your bios settings are set to boot form cdrom first. insert, and restart.
