I was wondering why THG would only include one of the results from the 2x 1.8 opteron processors. It got a higher score than the OCed p4 at 4ghz. I really wish they had included more opteron test results. Any thoughts?

They probably just used a recent chart that was in there files and added the P4 4.0 to it. A couple of weeks ago they said they had a SETI chart in their review but it was no where to be found. They did have a article that compared some dual CPU's (opteron and some xenons and athlon MP's, I think) i believe that the test compared 2x2.8 xenons Vs. 2x1.8 opterons and the xenons beat them, guessing because of the clock speed difference and the architexture(cant spell right now) the 64 bit capability.

But whatever floats their boat.

Dude, it's Xeon not Xenon the inert gas!

I am guessing because it was a chart topped. The Opteron blows in Workstation benchmarks, and to put it there all along has no meaning, since:
1) It's a server CPU
2) It is not meant to do these tasks nor is it that good at them

It was probably added in there since SETI is quite an intensive benchmark and perhaps the high performance of it deserved to be mentioned. (Contending a 4GHZ P4 and beating it is still a feat)

I know its xeon, I was just at www.teamxenon.com looking at some bodykits, so i just had a slip of the fingers, brain, eyes(basically everything related to concentration.

Other than the Asus board, what is the next best board to overclock with?

Does this process void any warranties that are placed on the parts in the computer?

What effects will this constant overclocking cause to other parts in the system, such as the Video Card, PCI Cards etc. ?

Will there be a loss in componet life and if so by how much?

Will this end up costing me more in the long run, due to having to replace componets each time they stop working?

Might sound dull, but I'm very interested and am wondering what other people think?
