Best performing manufacturer

I am looking to buy a new LCD monitor. I know viewsonic was good a few years ago but am now hearing LG/Samsung are top of the line. Based on your reviews, what is the top manufacturer for LCD's for 2010?

There are two lines of monitors available.

TN panels which are cheap to make so they make up 90% of the market. Samsung/LG is the king of this market. Although the color of these panels are lacking, some do come 3D cappable.

Then there are panels that are based on the more expensive IPS technology which gives better color and viewing angle. But expensive. Dell and NEC would be the best if you want IPS. You won't find 3D on these monitors.
