D255 not charging

Hello,
my acer apire one d255 cannot recognise the battery when i charge it, though its working if connected via AC adapter. what will i do so that the battery will charge? thanks

If you have had the battery for a long time then maybe it's no longer any good and when you connect the ac adapter your not really using the battery , so you may have a dead battery.

Dead battery! If your laptop won't charge it, then it is most likely dead. Some hardware providers supply battery testing software with laptops. You may find a program on the internet that can test your battery to see if it will hold charge. Could possibly be the connection between the battery and the motherboard!?
