Reboot and Select proper Boot device Message

Last response: in Windows 7

I recently built a new rig and attempted to install Windows 7, yet when I attempted to install the software from the disk I received the message "Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device". I have changed the boot order in bios (I have a Gigabyte Z77- D3H motherboard) but that has not helped, with it not booting from the drive with the disk in that I assigned. Could it be an issue with the optical drive itself? If anyone could give me any advice on what to do (I'm not great with computers and this is my first rig) I would be very grateful.

Try the windows media out on another pc. I know it sounds weird but I have had bad windows disks that would not boot. If it works in another pc just fine then i would check out your optical drive if it is hooked up properly you can always switch out optical drives if you need to just get windows installed as well or while you are waiting on a replacement.

I tried the CD in another computer and it worked perfectly. The computer ahs stopped picking up the CD drive though so it could be an entirely other problem. Thanks for the help though.
