Hello,
Im looking for a Notebook mainly for 3d modelling & photo editing, some gaming etc.

For my limited budget i got
Asus A52JR-X1 - i5 430m, 4GB, ATI HD 5470
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

or

HP DV6 core2duo P7450, 4GB, ATI HD 4650 (also has extras like bluetooth, remote controll, eSata etc.)

so what is the best option ?

Will better core i5 perfomance compensate for low end HD5470 in games ??

Thank you.

The 5000 series card may be comparable to the 4000 series one and it will definitely give you a better battery life. Wait, according to your previous descriptions neither laptops have the 5470. I'd go with the Asus one.

Oops! Asus A52JR-X1 does have a HD5470. sorry it was a typo by me.

but from what i see HD5470 is a 64 bit, 80 pipes
http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-547...

and Hd 4650 is a 128bit , 320 pipes
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD...

so can 5470 be compared to 4650 ?

Thanks

You can easily look up a comparison chart between ATI graphics cards on the web (it's also on Wikipedia.)

Yeah i tried that but I dont know what kind of effect would there be when considering the combinations of processor and VGA as above said.

Anyway thank you very much for the reply.
