Screen fonts

I'm using a new Dell Inspiron with XP Home. Some of the screen fonts are
large and rough-edged, especially on some e-mails. Any ideas?

Check out Clear Type,
http://www.microsoft.com/typography/WhatIsClearType.msp...
Be sure to also click on "About fonts > ClearType information"
at the top of the page.
