Gta iv doesnt work

Hello,
I cant guess why my gta iv doesn't work.It shows
the following line,"the application has failed to start
because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.
please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail"
I have i3 processor and 6 gb ram
radeon graphics 1gb
windows 7 32 bit
please tell me what to do

This is a nasty one.. Googled it and it seems to be related to some obscure C++ package error. Do you have any items relating to "C++ redistributable package" or something similar in your list of installed applications?

^also if you are installing via CD there is usually a check box you have to check in order to install the redist packages. Sometimes its necessary some times not. They can usually also be found on the cd in a redist folder aswell.

Update windows, if that fails to solve it, reinstall the game

You haven't been modding it have you? I just went through something similar with Skyrim.

It seems to be a software related issue, nothing to do with your hardware -- try uninstall then installing it again, and see if it helps.
