Which LCD I should buy among them?

Hi I have been using a CRT Monitor from a long time, even I had a HD Graphic Card from about 3 Years. Recently I have Got some money & I am a little confused in
*different labels
*HD, Non-HD
*Different optimum Resolutions
*Dynamic Contrast

Q:Also I am a little confused about the LCD's specs because some companies claim that their LCD is HD while they only have a VGA Port.

Q:Some companies does not mention any where that there LCD's are HD while they have DVI-D Port, What's that?

I included different companies because many peoples are not familiar with all brands & Also some companies are selling very powerful LCD's at very cheap prices View Sonic, ACER, BenQ & HP while some are very expensive like DELL & Samsung.

As far as I know the different kinds of HD is just fancy ways to tell you the resolution. For example: 1080p = 1920x1080.
