Hi

I have this IDE ATA to USB adapter, added it to a windows 7 machine as a backup utility. now all i get is device not ready, and i can't initialize the drive. I see the drive in computer management but can't initialixe it to assign a drive letter. Windows 7 is updated antivirus is updated adn the HDD is a seagate ST3250820A 250Gigg.

Any help would be highly appreciated...

Oh and there is nothing wrong with the drive as when i add it to my XP machine it runs just fine...

Please delete your email address from your OP.

If you have a USB mouse, connect it to the same USB port as you have the HDD connected to. Does the mouse work? If not, then it is your USB port that is bad.
