Free install windows xp sound device driver

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums,
To get you directed properly, what model computer?
In the mean time, you can try this. Go into Control Panel>Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game Controllers you should see your sound device listed (with an exclamation mark possibly) right click that and select uninstall. Restart your computer, the hardware should be detected automatically and drivers installed
