What's your favorite at this range?

The one that gets the most replay and never seems to get old?

Just curious, Q

STTNG - "hands down". What he hell does that mean anyway?

$1800-$2300 ought to find you a real nice STTNG and it's the best game
around. At any price.

I agree - STTNG is an excellent choice. If you can find an IJ in that
range, I like that one even better!

I used to own a STTNG and I thought for the money it was a GREAT
game...Actually a classic period.

So STTNG gets most votes in this range.

Anyone out there absolutely HATE the Next Generation series and still
like the pin?

Well I'm a big ST fan but really only the original series. Still there
is enough there for me, the star trek theme( da da da....), the next
generation theme that plays the whole game is actually the first
movie's theme, the transporter sound, the red alert sound. Too bad it
wasn't based on the old series.

Too bad that you HATE it...if you were just ambivalent it might not
ruin the pin for you. It's really a classic game.

I also vote for ST:TNG. If you can get a TZ in that range these days,
that's a great one too.

I'll throw in a vote for NGG. I've only had mine for a little over a
month (so I still have that "new pinball" feeling where I can't wait to
play it every day), but I really think this is a great pin for the
money...especially considering the prices that other pins from this era
(MM, MB, CV, CC, AFM, etc.) sell for. Super pin for the money. Tons
o' fun.

Hey, I'm flexible! I'm going look further into everyone's
recommendations. A truly good pin is more than just it's theme.

(I just never liked the art direction, characters and themes of all the
Berman-inspired spin-offs. Off on a tangent, but ST hit their peak in
my eyes with Wrath of Khan. )

Hate the show love the game. Never thought I would untill I played due
to WW ball getting stuck and HS2 taking my money and shutting off. Now
its getting 90% play time the other 10% AF(away from home)
Game is great not in love with PF art.

I have both ST:TNG and TZ. Hands down TZ is a better game, IMHO. I
would lean towards TZ, but ST:TNG is an awesome game and clearly
Ritchie's best game without a doubt. I think you should be able to find
a nice TZ in that price range. If not, then go for the ST:TNG.

Like another said, you could also find a NGG (which I also have) and
that is an awesome pin as well.

Good luck!

Dude I already PUT the "hands down" way early in this thread to declare
that STTNG is the best choice. Find yourself someother limb or apendage
to put down please.

No way TZ is better.

STTNG, TZ and TAF are good. TZ is more complex with more going on but
not more challenging than the other two. TAF is the most expensive,
STTNG the least. All else equal, considering only cost, STTNG is a
good option.

In that price range I would agree with STTNG. NGG would be another IF you
can find one.

Is there really more going on in TZ? Doesn't seem so deep at all to me.
Another start the mode, get to the mansion Lawlor game,
indistinguishable really rulewise from TAF.

STTNG has the genius stroke of actually forcing the player to PAY
ATTENTION to the fact that he is in a mode. You actually have to put
forth an effort in the modes to get an artifact, and players are
punished in the wiz mode for not doing this.

It's also got the warp thing which is pretty cool, and a fantastic
multiball.

I haven't played as much TZ as most of you- what am I missing? It has a
decent ruleset, but I don't see it as deeper than TAF, and I certainly
see it as having less to it than STTNG.
