Can I run windows 7? Tags: Windows 7 RAM Last response: October 30, 2012 3:55 PM in Windows 7 Share eiflegend October 30, 2012 1:32:06 PM hey guys. finally getting to upgrading to windows 7 from xp professional basic system specs are the following: model/make: HP compaq dx7500 RAM: 2gb CPU: intel Core 2Duo e7400 2.8ghz gpu: intel g45/g43 express chipset now i know RAM needs to be upgraded to at least 4gb. but im wondering if the other components need an upgrade as well? seems borderline to me the pc is used mainly for browsing and nothing really intense. any upgrades you guys recommend to run win7 smoothly? or is just ram sufficient? thanks More about : run windows | E-mail me updates | Report abuse Register or log in to remove CDdude55 October 30, 2012 2:02:11 PM It should run fine, though Windows Aero might not work as smoothly (or at all) using an old Intel chipset GPU. But Windows 7 takes up as about as much resources as XP does, so you should be safe overall i'd say. | Report abuse inzone Windows 7 Expert October 30, 2012 2:02:40 PM Just the ram upgrade will do. | Report abuse Hawkeye22 Windows 7 Authority October 30, 2012 3:55:56 PM This should help out too. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/up... | Report abuse Register or log in to remove Ask the community Publish Tom's Hardware>Forum>Windows 7>Can I run windows 7?> Related ressources: ForumRun Windows 7 from HDD dock using USB 3.0 ForumDoes Crysis run on Windows 7 ?
