I want to know if dell's notebooks are reliable. After seeing many horror stories about dell's desktops, I want see if anybody has any past experiences with them. I'm deciding between the sony slim lines and them because this is a support computer, and i don't need to lug 5-7 lbs around everyday for college.

I have had two and never had a problem with them.
Right now I have an Inspiron 8100 with a PIII 1.13 using WinXP PRO. Its great. I don't use it very much.
Before I had an Inspiron 4000 with a Celeron 700 and WinME. The hardware was fine. The OS sucked. Eventually put WinXP Home upgrade on it. That worked great.
