I am experiencing problems trying to boot my SL-75MRN with a 2500+. The system reads my HDD and my CDROM correctly while doing the IDE checks, but as soon as that's over with, the system goes blank with a blinking cursor in the top left of the screen. It is not recognizing my Win XP CD in the tray, so I'm basically stuck. The only things I have hooked up are the HDD, CDROM, and 1 stick memory (which is 256MB but when loading it says something like 229MB + 32 Shared).

I've really been struggling with this build (my first...and possibly the last) and could use some help.

Thanks.
Dave

The 32 mbs shared is for your onboard video. As for your other problem, do you have the cdrom set up as a bootable device in your bios? If it is you may have to make it first bootable device, and then when xp does its first shutdown make your hdd first bootable device. That is what I had to do with my nforce board. It is all worth it when you can say "I built that myself".
