Hello...I am using an AMD XP 1800+ proc and want to overclock. How do I know if I have either the AMD Palomino or Thoroughbred version CPU? Is there a way to check the CPU type thru WIN XP using any utility? The overclockers.com site lists radically different celings for each of the above AMD procs.
Thank you.

3dmark should tell you if you have a tbred or palo. Another way to check is to go into bios, set cpu voltage to auto and check the voltage, 1.75+- is a palomino and 1.5-1.6 is a tbred.
