USB 2 Question

I'm looking atbuying a Belkin USB 2 PCI card with 4 external USB
connectors (and 1 internal) for a Gateway E-3400 rinning Win98 SE.
This card requries a PCI 2.1 slot. Does anyone know if this Gateway
system (I would guess 1999 vintage) supports PCI 2.1?
