I just got an insprion 6000 running and the touchpad has a mind of its own,
not responding well at all. I've tried to adjust in control panel w/ no
sucess. Any ideas please? Thanks

Did the touchpad ever work properly? If not, contact Dell immediately.
Otherwise, what changed between the time things worked and the time
they didn't? Things to try:

1. Install the latest drivers for the touchpad. Get them from Dell's
support website for your specific Inspiron.

2. If the Inspiron has always had problems, you've done nothing
different (not added new software, had viruses, or installed external
keyboard software, etc.), and the new drivers don't help - contact Dell
tech support. You may have a hardware problem.
