My CD Burner died and I need to go buy a new one. I checked the burner forum but the suggested models all have "noisey" on there reviews. I'm looking for a 48X R-RW drive that is QUIET! Also I'll be using it as a normal cd drive so decent seek times would be good too. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I wanted a silent CDRW myself, and I found the MSI Dragonwriter series, which are well known for being less noisy and they also come with very nice features. I´ve been using it for about 6 months now, as my only CD-drive, works perfectly and silently!

I bought the ASUS CRW-4824A 48X24X52 CDRW from newegg for $36.99 a month ago. It was cheaper than the 52x, and from the reviews I read much quiter. This burner is 5x quiter than my old Sony 8x, and burns cds about 5 million times faster (slight exaggeration)

Btw, I think 2 responses within an hour is pretty quick ^_^

It's all good ^_^

The samsung drive I bought sometime ago from bestbuy is quite fast and never noticed any noise (Don't blame me if I couldn't hear it in the noise made by my computer)
