I think that is because your processor FSB is running at 200 Mhz with quad pumping. It displays as 200 Mhz on my computer too, but it is really 800 Mhz.

yeah but i had done a 3dmark benchmark, and some other guy with specs quite less than mine whipped me really badly.... so im wanting to know how to utilise the system to its best

There are no pumps, some idiot invented the term. It's Quad Data Rate. Now count the letters, it's not that much harder to type the extra 2 places.

Watts mean squat if you don't have quality!

..........It's actually easier just to say "Q.D.R.", and when someone has to ask what that means....then you can say it...Quad Data Rate...LOL!!!

...Everyone already uses the term DDR, so why hasnt QDR caught on yet??? hmmmm......

Ok, so you have to put your "2 cents" in, but its value is only "A penny's worth". Who gets that extra penny?

LOL, its because you dont have a true 800mhz fsb my friend.

Welcome to intel, you'll be assimilated shortly. :D

I'd be interested in the guys specs who beat you if you would post them..

Athlon 1700+, Epox 8RDA (NForce2), Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 80GB 8MB cache, 2x256mb Crucial PC2100 in Dual DDR, Geforce 3, Audigy, Z560s, MX500

I don't intend to start another AMD vs Intel debate here...

Yet I wanted to point out to you, kinney, that AMD also advertises their FSB's at an inflated speed. They advertise 400 mhz fsb when they have a 200 mhz fsb yet it works twice per clock cycle instead of intels 4.

I dont think that will start a silly amd/intel debate.
I realize this, I just found it slightly amusing that people are so shocked. I would be partically shocked into thinking I have a true 800mhz fsb and find its 200 (quad pumped)!

To further your point, amd actually advertises their actual CPU speed at a inflated rate.
I would also find it funny for someone to find out their 1.7+ processor ran at 1.46ghz (my processor).

Ignorance in this field gets you ripped off and left feeling silly. Goes to show people need to do more READING and less spending.

I agree. I'm surprised with even just a little reading that people would miss the fact that all these numbers are for marketing purposes.

People not knowing how the AMD rating system works is just screwy. It was made for that purpose, because they arent using MHZ as a measure of power.

Oh well, people really do need to research before they open their wallet.
