I just built a new computer with the system specs:
Epox 8DRA+
AMD 2600+
512 Crucial 2.5 DDR333
MSI Geforce Ti4200 128mb 8x
WD 80gig 8mb Hard drive

I was running benchmarks on the computer using SiSoftware and everything seemed to be running up to speed. Then I run 3DMark 2001 SE. The numbers come out to about 7700. WTF! My XP1700 with a Radeon 8500DV runs gets about that. Now this is a brand new system with a more powerful processor and a better video card. It should hit at least 9k-10k. I already checked the processor is running full speed and updated to the latest Nvidia Drivers. Anybody have any ideas?

Nice sig juin. It allows everyone to see how ignorant you are. Job well done.

The aim of military training is not just to prepare men for battle, but to make them long for it. <A HREF="http://forums.btvillarin.com/index.php?act=ST&f=41&t=327&s" target="_new"><b>MY SYSTEM</b></A>

Is your AGP running at 4x/8x?

If AGP speed is OK, then you may consider reinstalling windows and everything. ATI -> nVidia switching usually requires clean reinstallation for get everything working fine.

You need to go into the VGA driver utility page.

By default the options of best image quality for Direct 3d and intellisamples are enabled.

You need to set these to best performance. That should give you another 2000 marks or so.
