Hi,

there is probably a HP Utility ( Sony calls it "Hot Key Utility" ), which is
a small program loaded at startup. If this program is missing or not loaded,
you won't be able to access the Fn keys !!

Hope this helps.

Tom

I have an internet parental control program that starts when I start Windows.
I looked in the Start menu, but can't see it there. I think it is a hidden
file, but I want to remove it from the Start Menu without just deleting the
file alltogether.

Any help? [I know this is a is a basic question- sorry]

Hi Dave

You said you can't see it in the Start Menu, yes? So I am guessing what
you mean is not "remove it from the Start Menu" but stop it from
starting when Windows loads.

First thing to check is for an option within the program itself, if it
runs as an icon in the System Tray, for example. Try both a left- and a
right-click and see if there's an Options or Preferences menu anywhere
which may allow you to stop it from running at startup.

If no luck there, click on Start > Run, type msconfig, click OK.
In the box that pops up, click on the Startup tab and browse through the
list there. If you find your program in the Startup Item column, look
across to the Location column and you'll see where it is loading from.
This could be in a Registry key or a Startup folder, for example. Go
there and delete the entry or shortcut.

Hope this helps. If not, or you need more help, please post back.
