What software do I need?

I want to start benchmarking my PC and see what I can get out of overclocking it. What kind of software do I need and where can I get it?

You could use 3dmark 2001, 3dmark 2003, fraps, pcmark 2002, codecreatures, SISoftware Sandra Standard, SPEC, and the list goes on. Those are just some of the most common.
You could also try google.

yup, what sargeduck said. but first, to see if ur system is stable after u have overclocked, run Prime95 for a couple of hours. if u dont get any errors, then ur overclock is good/stable.

you need a good antec or thermaltake heatsink before overclocking, unless you'll not return it to stock speed again.
