When you connect the laptop to the tv, does the the laptop screen turn off? My guess is that the copyright protection thinks you are trying to copy the disk by "moving the content off of the laptop."

Can you access TH on your smart phone?

Easier than trying to understand the aggravating content protection on blu rays is just to bypass them altogether.

Software like 'AnyDVD' will do the trick.
Google is your friend, so you can also search for 'hdcp bypass' etc.
